Abstract
Cet article aborde le problème de la reconnaissance des cultures et des langues minoritaires dans une société et explique l'importance de cette reconnaissance en donnant des arguments qui prouvent qu'une langue est indissociable d'une culture, dont elle est le reflet. On y démontre ensuite que la communauté sourde constitue une minorité un peu différente des autres au Québec, mais qu'elle a une langue, la langue des signes québécoise (LSQ), dont on peut affirmer qu'il s'agit d'une langue à part entière. Pour terminer, on insiste sur l'importance de la reconnaissance de la LSQ.
