Abstract
Les études portant sur le français en Acadie et au Québec ont largement fait état de la présence, dans ces parlers, de mots du vocabulaire maritime ayant connu des extensions de sens. Ces mots se sont intégrés à la langue en formant, de façon tout à fait naturelle avec les autres mots, des réseaux lexicaux originaux par rapport à ceux du français de référence. L'étude du verbe haler en français acadien permet d'illustrer ce phénomène, puisque la présence de cette particularité lexicale a un impact sur l'environnement linguistique global du français acadien. Les extensions sémantiques des mots du vocabulaire maritime entrent en relation avec les mots du français de référence, ce qui a une incidence sur le choix des mots français et leur distribution paradigmatique. Une présentation des divers emplois du verbe d'origine maritime haler 'tirer' précédera une étude de son comportement fonctionnel dans la langue.
