Abstract
Measurements of the complex impulse response of 900 MHz radio channels between cell sites and mobiles near the mountains in Vancouver, Canada are presented. A propagation model based on the normalized scattering cross section sigma /sup 0/ of the mountains is developed. Using values of sigma /sup 0/ derived from the measurements, this model can be used to predict characteristics of the impulse response in similar terrain from topographical data.>
