Abstract
Face à un objet technique et de design, l’activité sémiotique permet de mettre à l’épreuve ses lois propres en plaçant l’objet plastique au coeur même de l’analyse. Il est ainsi donné prioritairement par l’expérience perceptive, instant où le saisissement des formes, des matières et des couleurs se noue, chacune ramenant le sens à la surface. Entre l’objet technique et l’utilisateur, prennent corps la dimension sensible et son contenu narratif, qui délimitent un certain nombre de significations à décoder, afin de construire un objet stabilisé. Mais les ordinateurs étudiés ne se laissent pas prendre aussi facilement : du contact visuel au geste, déroulement procédural de l’usage, le sujet est soumis à perturbation. Outre la surdétermination fonctionnelle de l’objet technique, des détails figuratifs, des marques rythmiques et autres traces interstitielles jalonnent l’objet pour en donner l’accès. La sémiotique, elle, invite à la vérification de la cohérence objectale.
