Abstract
Peintres, cinéastes et photographes ambitionnent de créer des vues inédites alors qu’ils se limitent, en réalité, à reproduire les stéréotypes qui circulent autour d’eux et qui ont constitué graduellement le champ du visible. Pourtant, ces clichés, emprisonnés dans la très longue durée, ne sont pas des archétypes. Cet article, qui se fonde sur deux corpus iconiques réalisés au lendemain de tragédies, respectivement un attentat et une guerre suivie d’une révolution, tente de comprendre comment, à la suite d’un bouleversement majeur, les artistes peuvent subitement porter un autre regard sur les images fabriquées avant le drame, durant ce qui leur semble désormais appartenir à la préhistoire.
