Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

When selection or switch diversity is used at the receiver, using DPSK is problematic as it requires two consecutive symbols from the same branch for proper differential detection. Therefore, unless special provisions are taken, the receiver would fail when switching to a different branch. In this paper we describe the operation of the conditional diversity combining receiver which uses DPSK and outperforms the classical (selection combining) SC receiver while using the same number of receive chains. The symbol error rate results indicate that the performance of the CDC receiver is bounded by the that of the classical SC receiver and that of a receiver that combines, at each symbol interval, the two branches with the largest instantaneous power (the so-called hybrid 2S/EGC receiver). Furthermore, we provide results showing the amount of time that the CDC selects a single branch (SC mode) or selects and combines two branches (2S/EGC mode) in order to better understand its error rate performance.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
