Abstract
Une institution dans l’Ouest de la France a mis en place depuis 3 ans un groupe de parole de pères séparés. Ce groupe, animé par deux professionnels, un travailleur social et un thérapeute familial, a accueilli à ce jour 90 pères. Peu d’études ont été réalisées sur le sujet, d’autant que peu de groupes de parole entre hommes existent en France. Ces hommes, souvent démunis, parfois désespérés face à la situation de séparation, trouvent dans le groupe les moyens de partager leur expérience, de réfléchir collectivement à leur situation et à la manière de la faire évoluer favorablement. Ils se dégagent progressivement des ressentiments à l’égard de leur ex-compagne et y découvrent de surcroît une forme de solidarité masculine. Ils se recentrent alors sur les relations avec leurs enfants et s’éveillent autrement à la paternité, revendiquant alors une forme d’égalité parentale.
