Studienziele: Analyse des Zusammenhangs zwischen Pro-Kopf-Alkoholkonsum, Trinkmustern und der koronaren Mortalitat. Methodik: Mehrebenenanalyse aggregierter Daten. Ergebnisse: Trinkmuster moderieren den Effekt des Pro-Kopf-Alkoholkonsums auf koronare Herzkrankheiten. In Landern mit regelmasigen Trinkmustern zeigt sich der Alkoholkonsum als eher protektiv fur die koronare Mortalitat; in Landern mit sporadischem, exzessiven Konsum steigt die koronare Mortalitat mit der Pro-Kopf- Alkoholmenge. Bei Mannern wirkt Alkohol insgesamt schadigend auf die koronare Mortalitat. Schlussfolgerung: Die verschiedenartigen Auswirkungen von Trinkmustern versus Trinkmengen bedurfen kunftig differenzierterer praventiver Anstrengungen.
