Abstract
À partir d’une comparaison entre le carnaval de Notting Hill à Londres et le défilé de la Biennale de la danse de Lyon, conduite de 2000 à 2005, cet article entend montrer comment les dispositifs de médiation culturelle contribuent à convertir les expérimentations sociales héritées des mouvements culturels des années 1970 en ressource productive au service du développement économique. L’analyse montre en particulier que la multiplication des objets (visant notamment à circonscrire et à sécuriser l’expression des minorités culturelles) et des hommes (artistes, professionnels du travail social) contribue à enserrer ces initiatives culturelles originales dans des partenariats et des stratégies politiques, et finalement à les désenchâsser des logiques pratiques qui les ont vues naître.
