La psychiatrie moderne est a un tournant de son histoire ou les usagers prennent une place croissante dans les services de sante mentale. Dans le cadre du Centre collaborateur de l’OMS (Lille, France) pour la recherche et la formation en sante mentale, une recherche-action est menee depuis 3 ans integrant des usagers en tant qu’experts d’experience. A travers de nombreux temoignages d’usagers, d’une formation sur la resilience et de decouverte experiences novatrices en Europe et au Canada, le groupe de recherche a elabore de nouveaux concepts et mis en place plusieurs actions allant dans le sens d’une reconquete de la citoyennete. Trois etapes ont ete decrites aux niveaux individuel, groupal et societal pour enrayer a chaque niveau le cycle de la stigmatisation et entrer dans la dynamique du retablissement. La perspective de la creation en France d’un statut de pairs-aidants est une des illustrations de la reconnaissance possible de l’expertise specifique des usagers a partir de leurs experiences.
