Abstract
Ce travail explore la grammaire des constructions explétives dans le cadre de la théorie du gouvernement et du liage et montre comment des analyses théoriques récentes peuvent rendre compte de certains phénomènes inattendus dans la grammaire du créole haïtien. Cette étude vient appuyer l’analyse de Hoekstra et Mulder (1990) qui perçoit there (et ses équivalents dans d’autres grammaires) comme une expression adverbiale dénotant la location plutôt qu’un explétif.
