Abstract

A partir de um olhar sobre produções literárias afro-luso-brasileiras, discute-se, neste ensaio, a questão da língua portuguesa, a sua expansão e a trama de diferenças que abriga. Para cumprir este objectivo mais abrangente, abordam-se duas construções simbólicas que acabam por se suplementarem quando, partindo do domínio linguístico, se fazem constructos mais amplos. Em primeiro lugar, é focalizada a questão do lusismo, lido como uma construção identitária que, no espaço da criação artístico-verbal portuguesa, se projecta, de princípio, de modo eufórico, para depois se problematizar, até se tornar, muitas vezes, disfórico. Em seguida, é discutida a lusofonia, percebida, com Eduardo Lourenço, como uma “mitologia” que só encontra sentido se se tomarem em conta, de um lado, as identificações existentes entre os vários falantes intercontinentais da língua e, de outro, as diversidades pelas quais esses mesmos falantes se distinguem profundamente.
