Abstract
The author conceptualizes the treatment of children and their families based on an integration of family systems theory and attachment theory. Theoretical foundations are examined with an emphasis on the application of attachment theory as it relates to working with children diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). This article adds to the literature in both ADHD and attachment by providing a different perspective for clinicians working with families who have a child diagnosed with ADHD.
