Abstract
En 1953 les conférences ecclésiastiques du diocèse de Quimper et Léon (organe de formation permanente du clergé) invitent les prêtres à s’exprimer sur l’histoire récente de leur paroisse d’affectation entre les années 1900 et 1950. Quelle est la vision du clergé sur l’histoire récente de leurs paroisses et leurs paroissiens, à une période de profonde modernisation des campagnes et de grands renouvellements sociaux ? Quel intérêt pour les cultures populaires ressort de cet ensemble documentaire ? En resituant le clergé séculier finistérien dans son organisation administrative et sociale nous tenterons, au travers d’un corpus documentaire inédit, de percevoir son intérêt pour la culture et les traditions de la population locale.
