Abstract
Au cours des annees cinquante et soixante, des centaines d'enfants quebecois nes de meres celibataires, enfants du peche disait-on, etaient adoptes aux Etats-Unis, a Puerto Rico, au Venezuela et en France. La derniere adoption realisee au Quebec par des citoyens francais date de 1972 [2]. Si l'adoption internationale n'est ni une realite nouvelle, ni l'exclusivite d'une seule culture - le Quebec adopte maintenant a son tour - elle n'est cependant plus le phenomene anecdotique qu'elle etait. Les histoires confidentielles d'adoptions transcontinentales suite aux grossesses hors mariage, a la guerre de Coree ou a la grande famine biafraise ont fait place a une realite universelle majeure, sans precedent dans l'histoire des filiations qui ont forge l'humanite : l'adoption internationale - desormais irremediablement inscrite dans les usages sociaux des familles contemporaines.
