Abstract
La représentation de L’acte inconnu, la dernière pièce publiée de Valère Novarina, dans la cour du Palais des Papes d’Avignon en juillet 2007 a marqué un tournant dans l’écriture de l’auteur et a sans doute surpris tant les spectateurs qui découvraient son œuvre que ceux qui la suivent depuis plusieurs années. Portée par le souvenir d’un des interprètes de Novarina récemment disparu, cette pièce exacerbe la dimension mémorielle de son théâtre, en proposant un large éventail des formes expérimentées dans ses textes précédents. Elle entre ainsi en tension avec une dramaturgie du moment présent dont l’auteur a toujours fait un des enjeux de son œuvre. Le théâtre de Novarina continue de déjouer les attentes du lecteur-spectateur, vouant la parole et l’acteur à sonder l’inconnu.
