Abstract
Ce texte explore le rapport de la francophonie à l’économie et surtout aux discours élaborés pour justifier, expliquer ou contester la réalité économique des francophones au Québec et dans les milieux minoritaires. Depuis 1945, les discours mis en place reflètent le zeitgeist , ou l’air du temps, mais soulignent aussi une volonté de faire entendre leur différence. Par ailleurs, ces discours traduisent une peur, celle du sous-développement et de l’incapacité de maîtriser le développement économique.
