Abstract
Pour donner une suite logique à l’article intitulé « L’éducation physique scolaire québécoise : une nouvelle mission sociale à découvrir », l’auteur définit les éléments qui doivent être considérés dans la redéfinition d’une mission sociale axée sur la santé. De tels nouveaux objectifs permettraient à l’éducation physique de rencontrer des besoins sociaux concrets du Québécois moderne. Cette profession doit se réorienter vers une éducation concernant les affaires relatives au corps et à la santé. Aucune institution ne comble encore ces besoins si prévalents dans la société actuelle. L’éducation physique devra graduellement se sortir de l’orientation limitée de l’école et entrer dans la société globale. Seulement à ce niveau jouera-t-elle son rôle social face à la santé collective du Québec.
