Abstract
Résumé Bien que la montée en puissance de l'emploi précaire pose des défis majeurs aux politiques actuelles de soutien au revenu, elle n'est guère prise en compte par les instances en charge des politiques publiques. Cet article s'appuie sur une étude conduite dans l'Ontario, Canada, et examine les conséquences de ces défis pour les mères isolées, qui sont concernées au premier chef à la fois par l'emploi non conventionnel et par les politiques de workfare. Sur fond de mutation des marchés du travail, l'article analyse les forces et faiblesses potentielles de la stratégie consistant à mettre en place un dispositif de revenu d'existence pour offrir une sécuritééconomique aux femmes chefs de familles monoparentales.
