Abstract
L'Amélanchier résiste. Tinamer est-elle la seule narratrice de son enfance? Et si d'autres voix ajoutaient leurs commentaires? Cet article ne prétend à aucune psychanalyse, mais cherche à montrer le parti romanesque que Ferron a su tirer de son projet initial : faire assumer le récit par un narrateur répliqué, occupant les cases assignées au père réel ou au père héros face à l'héroïne fictive. En de savants contre-points, les narrateurs nous donnent à lire l'histoire de Tinamer et celle de Coco, celle du, des pères et de leur fille; ils opposent le destin de Coco à l'institution psychiatrique, et le jardin merveilleux à la rue malodorante, figure de la réalité politique. À la fois histoire et témoignage du Québec des années 70, où le réel, la censure, les tensions s'opposaient au rêve de l'indépendance, l'Amélanchier montre que le pays était là, mais encore en dérive, et aide à mieux comprendre la difficulté d'accoster.
