Abstract
Cet article porte sur la description des pratiques très courantes de gestion de classe et sur la nécessité d'y former les enseignants. La réflexion se déroule en quatre temps. L'auteur analyse les compétences que met en jeu la gestion de classe; il définit ce qu'on entend par cycle d'apprentissage pluri-annuel comme un espace-temps de formation regroupant un grand nombre d'élèves, collectivement confiés à une équipe pédagogique; il identifie des problèmes nouveaux que rencontre une telle équipe lorsqu'elle tente d'organiser le travail dans un cycle; il examine de près un des modes d'organisation du travail dans un cycle d'apprentissage lié à une architecture modulaire du curriculum. Le texte prend fin sur un inventaire des compétences individuelles et collectives requises des enseignants en matière de gestion d'espace-temps de formation, en termes d'ergonomie cognitive.
