Les citadins sont en demande de nature, dans la ville et à sa périphérie. Des Chambres d’agriculture et des agglomérations françaises réfléchissent à la place de l’agriculture dans ces espaces urbains et périurbains. Au-delà d’un simple dialogue territorial nécessaire entre la diversité des acteurs en présence, c’est la question d’un aménagement territorial durable qui est posée… et qui ne peut s’accommoder des logiques anciennes segmentant l’espace entre espaces urbanisés et espaces ouverts. Il faut alors que les ac-teurs en présence construisent un monde commun… durable. Cela suppose a minima un véritable diagnostic en durabilité des activités agricoles et périurbaines, base de tout projet commun et solidaire, ainsi qu’une véritable éducation pour un développement durable territorial, pour qu’acteurs, experts et chercheurs, se constituent une culture commune dépassant une éducation à l’environnement. C’est cette double entrée qui sera ici considérée afin de mesurer comment démocratie dialogique et éducation pour un développement durable territorialisé se composent ou non. L’observation de quelques terrains dans l’Ouest de la France montre deux grands types plus ou moins intégrateurs.
