Abstract
Confrontés au vécu dictatorial, les romanciers haïtiens ont progressivement substitué aux constructions de l’Indigénisme et du réalisme social de Jacques Roumain et de Jacques Stephen Alexis, une narration profondément liée à l’écriture de l’occulte et au sentiment schizophrénique qui frappe le sujet littéraire haïtien. La notion bakhtinienne de « polyphonie » est désormais fréquemment appliquée à des romans dont la structure entrecroise plusieurs narrations à la première personne. La question du point de vue se pose tant au sens perceptif qu’au sens argumentatif. De fait, le dialogisme renvoie aussi à l’inscription du discours de l’autre dans son propre discours. Dans l’intertextualité des citations et des topoï indigénistes, les figures du zombie et du double marassa permettent d’opposer une polyphonie véritablement subversive, qui dialogise les règles de la mimésis, à une polyphonie prétexte, facilement réductible à un discours univoque.
