Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

A hybrid VLSI realization of a programmable, multi-layer optically coupled neural network is described in this paper. The network itself is a fully connected, multi-layer feedforward network. It has an optical array constructed by 5/spl times/5 photosensitive elements (photoreceptor) as the input devices. The artificial neurons have been implemented by 2-stage comparators composed with differential amplifier and output inverter to model the signum (hard limiting) nonlinear function. Scaled currents generated by the cascode current mirrors are selected by the data stored on the on-chip dynamic shift register (DSR) and performed as the synaptic weights. There are 25 input nodes, 4 hidden neurons and 3 output neurons for this network. The physical realization which contains approximately 9281 devices has been designed and ready to be fabricated by 1.2 /spl mu/, double-metal, n-well full custom CMOS technology.

Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
