Abstract
Devenir chef d’établissement scolaire constitue sans nul doute une inflexion importante de la trajectoire personnelle et professionnelle de l’individu. Pour autant, elle est fortement liée à un processus éducatif aux multiples formes. C’est tout d’abord l’empreinte biographique qui encourage sans doute une prise de risque certaine pour la recherche d’une reconnaissance de soi. Parallèlement, la formation curriculaire spécifique au corps des personnels de direction, bien que conservant son caractère formel, interpelle l’individu sur sa responsabilité décisionnelle. Enfin, dans une perspective dynamique, la multiplicité et la diversité des tâches au quotidien participent à l’enrichissement de l’individu et, de ce fait, constituent une mise en situation de formation continue. Notre approche compréhensive du métier de chef d’établissement exerçant dans les établissements scolaires français montre que les curricula réel, formel et caché semblent se conjuguer pour conduire le processus de mutation identitaire indissociable du changement de métier.
