Abstract
Afin de comprendre ce que des jeunes, âgés entre 13 et 23 ans, ont voulu que leur suicide produise, nous avons analysé leurs lettres d’adieu à la lumière de leurs histoires de vie. Cinq types d’effets ont été identifiés : des effets positifs pour soi, produits par soi ou par les autres ; des effets positifs pour les autres, produits par soi ou par les autres ; finalement, des effets négatifs pour les autres. Comme complément d’analyse, nous traitons aussi des émotions négatives et de leurs liens avec le suicide et les lettres d’adieu. Nous terminons en soulignant l’importance, pour prévenir le suicide des jeunes de bien les connaître, de savoir discerner leurs forces et leurs faiblesses.
