Abstract
Professeur à la Faculté de théologie de l’Université de Montréal, de 1967 à 1991, André Naud a été le modèle du théologien libre. La pensée de Simone Weil l’a mené à comprendre que « l'intelligence ne peut vraiment se soumettre à aucune autorité extérieure». Ses travaux abordent trois questions : les valeurs chrétiennes, appuyées sur une exégèse théologique des Écritures; la recherche de la vérité , qui autorise « un droit à la dissidence » au nom de la conscience individuelle; la liberté absolue de l’intelligence humaine que l’Église ne peut qu’inviter à une attention respectueuse et attentive à ses dogmes.
