Abstract
Cet article décrit les problèmes associés à la prédominance du discours postcolonial dans le champ des études irlandaises consacrées au théâtre. En se basant sur une étude de cas, soit celle du malaise de la critique causée par la question de l’appartenance institutionnelle du dramaturge Martin McDonagh, Sarah Keating souligne à quel point une incapacité de dépasser les constructions postcoloniales de l’identité nationale freine le développement discursif de ce même champ d’études.
