Abstract
A 13-month-old girl presented with a swelling on the left side of the neck, which only appeared during crying.It was first noticed by the parents 5 weeks before presentation, after the patient hurt her neck by falling against a table.Directly after the trauma no bruising or swelling was seen but a couple of days later the cervical mass was noticed.Physical examination showed a round, soft, non-tender, non-pulsatile swelling with a bluish discolouration and a diameter of 0.5 cm directly beneath the clavicle.The swelling only occurred when the girl cried and quickly disappeared when she relaxed (Fig. 1).Ultrasound with colour flow imaging confirmed the diagnosis (Fig 2).
