Abstract

Cet article présente la conception du langage telle que proposée par la théorie du béhaviorisme social de Staats (1975). Staats analyse le langage en termes de répertoires regroupés en trois catégories : le langage réceptif, le langage productif et le langage réceptif-productif. Le langage réceptif inclut les répertoires verbo-moteur, verbo-émotif et verbo-sensoriel. Le langage productif inclut les répertoires d’étiquetage, d’étiquetage complexe, d’étiquetage social et d’auto-étiquetage, et le répertoire sensori-verbal. Finalement, le langage réceptif-productif inclut les répertoires d’imitation verbale et de séquences verbales grammaticales. Cet article décrit les catégories du langage ainsi que les répertoires qui les composent, en spécifiant pour chacun d’eux les principes qui régissent leur apprentissage.
