Cet article examine l'influence des variables socioculturelles et familiales sur le parcours scolaire d'enfants de 6-7 ans en zone d'éducation prioritaire. Pour l'environnement sociofamilial ont été pris en considération le niveau socioéconomique et les pratiques éducatives de la famille alors que, pour les enfants, ont été étudiés la santé mentale en relation avec l'adaptation sociale et scolaire. Les résultats indiquent que la réussite scolaire et une bonne santé mentale sont liées; inversement, les difficultés scolaires sont souvent en relation avec des problèmes de santé mentale. Il ressort que c'est en milieu plus favorisé qu'on trouve une structuration familiale souple et qui soutient un meilleur développement.
