Abstract
We present a simulation of a cardiopulmonary system. The simulation is used within a serious game to help for nurses education. It runs in real-time and can be easily modified to represent different illnesses. The system can adequately react when a nurse executes an unexpected action on the pa-tient. The simulator uses a bottom-up design to model the cardiopulmonary system, using simple mathematical models and basic interactions to reproduce high-level and complex behaviors.
