Abstract

Cet article analyse, à partir des propositions contenues dans Angoujard (1981a et 1984), les processus d’accentuation, d’effacement et de réduction vocaliques dans un ensemble représentatif de parlers arabes d’Orient. Il est montré que ces processus apparaissent déterminés, si diverses soient les variantes attestées, par un petit nombre de choix qui, s’ils sont, pour la plupart, indépendants de nature, interagissent de façon continue. La reconnaissance du rôle joué par les inégalités substantielles issues de l’échelle de sonorité, de la hiérarchie syllabique et de l’organisation en pieds autorise un traitement paramétrique unifié et naturel de la structure prosodique.
