Abstract
Le problème de la mathophobie fait partie du quotidien des professeurs de mathématiques et de la vie de certains étudiants. Un environnement ayant pour but de réconcilier un certain nombre d’élèves ayant un vécu négatif face aux mathématiques a été mis sur pied au Cégep du Vieux-Montréal. Cette recherche-action a consisté à faire l’analyse de séances d’atelier, d’entrevues des participants et de deux questionnaires. Elle conduit à des suggestions pour les professeurs de mathématiques : favoriser la communication et les relations élèves-élèves et enseignant-élève, permettre l’exploration et la verbalisation, resituer les mathématiques dans un contexte plus humain.
