Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

We search for $b\ensuremath{\rightarrow}s{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ transitions in $B$ meson (${B}^{+}$, ${B}^{0}$, or ${B}_{s}^{0}$) decays with $924\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{pb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ of $p\overline{p}$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=1.96\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{TeV}$ collected with the CDF II detector at the Fermilab Tevatron. We find excesses with significances of 4.5, 2.9, and 2.4 standard deviations in the ${B}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{\ensuremath{-}}{K}^{+}$, ${B}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{\ensuremath{-}}{K}^{*}(892{)}^{0}$, and ${B}_{s}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\phi}$ decay modes, respectively. Using $B\ensuremath{\rightarrow}J/\ensuremath{\psi}h$ ($h={K}^{+}$, ${K}^{*}(892{)}^{0}$, $\ensuremath{\phi}$) decays as normalization channels, we report branching fractions for the previously observed ${B}^{+}$ and ${B}^{0}$ decays, $\mathcal{B}({B}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{\ensuremath{-}}{K}^{+})=(0.59\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.15\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.04)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}6}$, and $\mathcal{B}({B}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{\ensuremath{-}}{K}^{*}(892{)}^{0})=(0.81\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.30\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.10)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}6}$, where the first uncertainty is statistical, and the second is systematic. We set an upper limit on the relative branching fraction $\mathcal{B}({B}_{s}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\phi})/\mathcal{B}({B}_{s}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}J/\ensuremath{\psi}\ensuremath{\phi})<2.6(2.3)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}3}$ at the 95(90)% confidence level, which is the most stringent to date.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
