La recherche critique en éducation relative à l’environnement au sein du mouvement de résistance sociale face au projet minier Pascua Lama

Abstract
Ce texte propose une revue des principales caractéristiques de la recherche critique en éducation relative à l’environnement et des processus de construction de savoirs de type émancipatoire qu’elle génère autour des valeurs d’humanité, de respect de la vie, de dignité, de responsabilité, d’équité et de solidarité au sein de la trame de la vie. Ce type de recherche est illustré par un cas précis, celui de la dynamique qui se déploie au sein du mouvement de résistance au méga projet minier Pascua Lama de la transnationale canadienne Barrick Gold Corporation, à la frontière entre le Chili et l’Argentine. Une première étape d’exploration a progressivement mené notre équipe à passer d’une recherche de type interprétative, essentiellement basée sur des entrevues et une recension d’écrits, à une recherche-action profondément engagée d’un point de vue socio-politique, et conduite avec les acteurs sociaux qui se penchent sur les impacts du dit projet minier. Une ontologie réaliste critique a été alors privilégiée et une culture de recherche s’est développée en cohérence avec une épistémologie intersubjectiviste et dialectique. Un processus riche et fécond de construction collective de savoirs contextuellement appropriés et signifiants a ainsi été mis en œuvre.
