Abstract
Cet article traite du rôle et des significations de la maison monastique dans les récits des moniales du monastère de Saint-Nicolas (Roumanie). C’est à travers les récits des moniales, fortement ancrés dans l’expérience du communisme, que leur attachement à la tradition orthodoxe-paysanne peut se comprendre. Face à la persécution du régime communiste, les moniales de Saint-Nicolas ont trouvé refuge dans l’espace domestique des maisons qu’elles ont construites à l’aide de leur parenté. Ainsi les maisons sont-elles devenues les lieux ultimes de réclusion, de conservation et de transmission de la mémoire spécifique du monastère.
