Abstract
Este artículo presenta un retrato de la utilización de las TIC en las escuelas\nafricanas y explora los vínculos entre el uso de las TIC y la calidad de la educación en\nÁfrica. Los datos proceden de una investigación transnacional (el proyecto escuelas\npioneras de las TIC en África, financiado por el Centro de Investigación de Desarrollo\nInternacional (CRDI) de Canadá), en la que participaron 68.662 alumnos, 2.627\nprofesores, 217 administradores de la educación y 428 agentes educativos relacionados\ncon las escuelas en el África central y occidental. Los resultados presentados demuestran\nque el uso de las TIC en las escuelas participantes se centra principalmente en la\nenseñanza de las TIC como objeto de aprendizaje. El análisis de los resultados muestra\nque el uso pedagógico de las TIC en la enseñanza de una disciplina escolar, sigue siendo\ntodavía muy limitado en la mayoría de estas escuelas. Aproximadamente el 80% de las\nescuelas utiliza las TIC como disciplina escolar y solo el 17% busca la integración de las\nTIC en la enseñanza y el aprendizaje de las materias escolares.
