Abstract
L'auteur dresse une carte des régions thermiques du Québec méridional à partir de deux critères. D'une part, il compare les régimes annuels de températures pour toutes les stations prises deux à deux et trace une limite climatique là où les changements de régimes sont brusques. D'autre part, il utilise des lignes isothermiques considérées comme des seuils importants (moyenne annuelle de 0°C; moyennes de juillet de 15°, 17.5°, 20°C; minimum moyen de janvier de —15°, —20°, et —25°C; amplitude annuelle de 30°C). Après avoir analysé les régions ainsi délimitées, l'auteur insiste sur la nécessité de poursuivre des études climatiques locales. Des exemples, choisis dans le Québec, montrent que les températures peuvent s'écarter fortement des valeurs considérées comme normales pour la région dans le cas d'une grande ville, d'une île, d'un littoral océanique et d'une petite vallée.
