Ce numéro fait état de recherches récentes touchant des femmes de la francophonie. Les articles portent sur les femmes francophones vivant en milieu minoritaire au Canada (Linda Cardinal ; Monica Heller et Laurette Lévy), la double discrimination liée au sexe et à la langue (Maurice Saint-Germain et Marc Lavoie), les créations cinématographiques de femmes francophones (Christiane Lahaie) ainsi que sur les rapports des femmes à la langue française aux Antilles françaises (Ellen M. Schnepel). Une note de recherche porte sur le questionnement de la démocratie par un collectif féministe camerounais (Marie-Louise Eteki-Otabela). Quant au dossier, il est consacré au débat qui entoure la féminisation de la langue française et à diverses façons de manifester la présence des femmes dans cette langue au Québec, en France et en Suisse romande.
