Abstract
L’article propose une lecture critique de la représentation de la vie sociale sous-jacente à l’oeuvre de Foucault. En examinant de près sa version particulière du problème de l’ordre social, notamment dans ses conséquences pour sa conception de la domination et de la critique, nous mettrons en évidence l’ontologie générale sur laquelle repose son travail et les principales difficultés qui lui sont associées. Parce qu’il exprime avec plus de force et de cohérence que bien d’autres auteurs un implicite ontologique pourtant souvent de mise dans la plupart des études sociologiques, la discussion avec son oeuvre se révèle être une occasion privilégiée pour dessiner à rebours les contours — et la nécessité — d’une autre ontologie sociale.
