Abstract
A system to acquire quantitative three-dimensional three-vector color velocity images was developed. A clinical ultrasound system was modified by mounting the transducer on a motor-driven translation stage. Three-dimensional velocity images are acquired by digitizing successive color video images as the transducer is translated. The true velocity vector is calculated from three Doppler velocity volume images acquired using three different probe angles. The accuracy, linearity, and precision of the color velocity measurements have been quantified. Average velocity and true volume flow have been measured in-vitro.>
