Abstract
La recherche présentée dans cet article repose sur l'hypothèse qu'une meilleure connaissance des représentations qu'ont a priori les étudiants novices de ce que devront être leurs manières d'apprendre permettrait de réduire l'hiatus entre le secondaire et l'université. Un questionnaire intégré à un module de propédeutique a été administré à des étudiants novices de niveau universitaire. Les résultats indiquent que certains étudiants envisagent l'apprentissage comme une occasion de formation personnelle et que d'autres le considèrent plutôt comme un moyen d'insertion sociale dont l'obtention d'un diplôme universitaire leur paraît la clé. L'article décrit aussi les approches d'apprentissage que les étudiants comptent mettre en oeuvre et les stratégies qu'ils pensent déployer en première année universitaire.
