Abstract
O principal propósito deste artigo é investigar o processo de formação do professor em Administração no Brasil e, mais particularmente, as concepções, as práticas e os desafios que envolvem tal formação. A pesquisa, de natureza qualitativa, sustenta-se na análise de discurso oriundo de entrevistas semi-estruturadas realizadas junto aos representantes de entidades responsáveis pelo fomento e regulação do ensino superior de Administração no Brasil. Os resultados da pesquisa indicam significativa carência de políticas de formação do professor no ensino de Administração no Brasil, tanto por parte do governo quanto por parte das organizações de ensino superior em Administração. No entanto, também verificamos algumas iniciativas fecundas relacionadas à formação do professor em Administração que decorrem de parcerias interinstitucionais. Concepções e práticas da formação do professor convergem ao favorecer uma visão tradicional da aprendizagem como transferência hierárquica do conhecimento explícito. Convergem, também, ao ignorar a dimensão sócio-prática da aprendizagem em ações e programas formalmente institucionalizados.
