L’éducation à la consommation fait partie des contenus transversaux du Programme de formation de l’école québécoise au secondaire (MEQ, 2004; MELS, 2007a et b). Bien qu’il existe diverses portes d’entrée pour faire de l’éducation à la consommation dans les matières au programme, le Ministère ne suggère que peu de pistes pour sa mise en pratique (CSÉ, 2007). En ce sens, le modèle d’éducation à la consommation au secondaire présenté dans cet article contient des éléments qui visent à soutenir la réflexion sur la consommation, sur la société qu’elle génère ainsi que sur le comportement du consommateur dans cette société. Le but pédagogique poursuivi est d’amener les élèves à adopter un modèle de consommation éthique basé sur une consommation juste, équitable, solidaire avec les autres êtres humains et visant le bien-être des personnes (Cortina, 2002).
