Abstract
L'article relate l'expérimentation d'un nouveau mode d'intervention auprès de jeunes adultes en chômage de la région de Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. Ce type d'intervention, basé sur la notion du chômage créateur, visait à inciter les jeunes adultes sans emploi à utiliser leur temps de chômage d'une façon constructive, dans la perspective d'un développement de l'autonomie. Le bilan de l'intervention met en évidence, chez la clientèle cible, un mode de participation différent de celui qui était attendu au départ. Toutefois, pour les participants les plus assidus, l'intervention semble bien avoir atteint son objectif de transformer le processus de décroissance habituellement lié au chômage prolongé en une expérience plus positive de développement personnel.
