L’objectif de cette étude est de décrire et d’analyser les conceptions et les pratiques déclarées d’enseignants de première et de deuxième année de l’enseignement primaire en France et au Québec, à propos de la composante graphomotrice de l’écriture. Le choix de ces deux contextes culturels permet d’avoir des pratiques contrastées en écriture (enseignement du script et/ou de la cursive). Les réponses des enseignants ont été analysées et interprétées en lien avec les arguments avancés dans les recherches en faveur de l’utilisation de l’un ou l’autre des styles d’écriture. L’analyse des réponses montre que les pratiques sont en partie déterminées par les préconisations ministérielles et par les conceptions des enseignants sur l’apprentissage de l’écriture.
