Abstract
Depuis une dizaine d’années, la santé publique, notamment par l’intermédiaire des initiatives élaborées au niveau européen, insiste sur le coût économique et existentiel des troubles courants, dépression en tête. Ce contexte est celui d’un remodelage de la catégorie de dépression en tant que maladie « comme une autre ». Les enjeux de ces évolutions ne se limitent pas à l’espace institutionnel. Nous analyserons certaines d’entre elles sur la base de récits individuels. L’accent sera porté sur les négociations que les acteurs opèrent entre une lecture naturalisante de la maladie et une lecture psychologique valorisant le caractère singulier de l’expérience.
