A longtime member of the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists, he was appointed as manager and chief scientist of the complex multidisciplinary project that created the Geological Atlas of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin. Published in 1994, this eleven kilogram volume has 520 large-format pages, accompanied by a comprehensive computer database of all the subsurface stratigraphic data.
