Abstract
Il est difficile de nier l’impact de la pornographie sur la représentation du corps nu en photographie commerciale comme artistique. L’importance croissante de l’industrie pornographique et de la pornographie amateur depuis l’avènement d’Internet influe indéniablement sur la représentation du corps sexué. Depuis une quinzaine d’années, presque toutes les représentations de la sexualité en arts visuels montrent des traits ou utilisent des stratégies propres à la pornographie. Certaines productions, comme celles de Natacha Merritt, brouillent les frontières entre l’art et la pornographie au point de rendre caduques toutes distinctions. D’autres productions, comme celles de Elinor Carucci ou de Geneviève Cadieux, préféreront présenter littéralement le hors-champ de la pornographie. Dans les deux cas, la présence de cette dernière est indéniable et confirme qu’elle agit à titre de nouvelle norme dans la représentation de la sexualité. En repoussant également l’horizon d’attente des photographies à caractère sexuel, la pratique qui se réfère à la pornographie se permet d’aborder le corps sans compromis et sans pudeur. L’article se propose donc d’analyser comment natacha02_t de Natacha Merritt, Making Love d’Elinor Carucci, et Loin de moi, et près du lointain de Geneviève Cadieux interprètent les codes pornographiques et la signification des écarts qu’elles effectuent vis-à-vis de la norme sexuelle instituée par l’industrie.
